This blog rocks! I gotta say, that I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I'm glad I found your blog. Thanks, :)

Just had a look at your blog, we have to say there are some very thought provoking articles there.

Coming to your question, we think innovation cannot be traded with the safety of routine! That being said, there is of course something that you are doing that makes your current communication strategy work... so instead of turning it upside down, why not think of tweaking the rough edges if any? Reminds us of the title of this book by Marshall Goldsmith - "What got you here, won't get you there".

Of course I agree, of course I recognise what you're saying. But what if it's too late to launch a communication strategy? What if the company has had a fair Internal Communications department for many many years, and justification (reduced staff turnover) is no longer required and doesn't impress anyone?

What can be done to reinvigorate the way we communicate when we've been doing what we do for years?

I'd love to launch a new comms team with the fanfare of a strategy, justification, measurement and all those good things, but I work for companies that already have established comms - and that can be a good thing, but can sometimes seem sluggish.
